Some people can come to the studio, some are only available at the office, and others may be in different cities or countries. For companies, the challenge is not only taking good pictures. It is creating a consistent team look without turning the process into a burden for HR, People Ops, marketing, or communications teams. ### Choose the Format Use our professional Midtown studio or book an office setup for your team. Individuals can also request a live-directed virtual session. We help plan the format, direct each person and finish the images for business use. Use one visual brief for crop, background, and retouching when portraits will be photographed in the studio, at an office, or remotely. From NYC business headshots to leadership portraits and team pages, the process is built for real company use. ### Plan One Visual Standard List where each person will be photographed, where the portraits will appear, and which crop and background the final set should use. This gives the photographer a concrete brief before scheduling begins. For an in-person team shoot, confirm the studio or office location before choosing dates. Keep the same selection and retouching notes for every group. > Planning note: record the intended crop, background, file use, and final-image count before the first session. Built for Modern Brands ## Why Choose Match Production An editorial eye. A team behind the work. Match Production # The nine of us Six people behind the camera, one who makes shoot day run on time, one who makes sure nobody hates how they look, and one who works out how we do all of it in cities we don't live in. Our studio is at 545 8th Ave in Midtown, two blocks from Penn Station, close enough that people walk over on a lunch break. We also come to your office anywhere in New York, and we shoot live-directed remote sessions across Europe, the US and Asia. Studio & Office NYC session coverage Remote Direction Distributed team sessions Production Scheduling and galleries Shared Standards Lighting and retouching For standard Team packages, the published workflow includes a private gallery for selections, with retouched finals delivered 24 to 48 hours after selections are submitted. Larger or custom programs follow the schedule and delivery terms in the proposal. Every face on this page is our own work: we photograph each other, which is either a good sign or a very brave one. ## Who runs the studio Three people you will actually deal with: the person who sets the look, the person who grows the thing, and the person who runs your day. ### Alex Karnyukhin Founder, Art Director & Head of Photography Alex founded the studio, leads its photographers and personally shoots his scheduled sessions. His lighting and retouching standards keep Midtown studio and office portraits consistent. He has shot over 30 covers for Forbes, Inc., Esquire, GQ, Men's Health and many other magazines worldwide, plus advertising campaigns for Reebok, Puma, Adidas and many other global brands. - [View Alex's work & private commissions](https://www.match-production.com/alex-karnyukhin) - [alex@match-production.com](mailto:alex@match-production.com) ### Dmitry Rollins Chief Development Officer Dmitry coordinates projects outside New York across locations, studios, and crews, using shared lighting, crop, and retouching standards. He helps plan remote and multi-location programs. ### Irina Chistikina Lead Producer Irina coordinates every project we run: the room, the schedule, the sign-up sheet, the order your people move through in the time you actually have, and the gallery afterwards. If the day runs smoothly, that was her. She is also who your quote comes from, so she is the one to email. - [hello@match-production.com](mailto:hello@match-production.com) ## The photographers Each of them owns a lane. Whoever fits your shoot is the one who shows up, and all of them shoot to the same spec. ### Victoria Lead Photographer · Executive & LinkedIn Victoria shoots our executive and LinkedIn work: founders, C-suites, and the partner who needs to look approachable on a bio page by Friday. If your CEO is in the chair, she is usually the one behind the camera. Most people arrive a little stiff. That part is normal, and it is most of what she is directing for. - [See her work](https://www.match-production.com/portfolio#headshots-portraits) ### Ann Lead Photographer · Personal Branding Ann shoots personal branding: the founders and consultants who need a whole set of images for a website, a deck and months of posting, not one headshot they will be bored of by March. Her sessions run longer, with more looks, because that is what a set actually takes. - [See her work](https://www.match-production.com/portfolio#personal-branding) ### Roman Lead Photographer · Conferences & Events Roman shoots conferences and events: badge photos, speaker portraits, and headshot booths that have to move a room full of people before the next session starts. He describes his own work as commercial and documentary, which is why his event portraits look like people rather than like a queue. - [See his work](https://www.match-production.com/portfolio#event-portfolio) ## Hair and makeup, in-house Hair and makeup can be arranged as part of the session scope. Anna knows the lighting used for the portraits and works on set when included. ### Anna Cherchen Lead Makeup & Hair Artist Anna Cherchen provides makeup, hair, and grooming for the agreed portrait brief when hair and makeup is included in the session scope. Outside the studio she works across beauty, fashion and commercial production. Her credits include projects for Bulgari, Reebok, KFC, plus editorial work for Vogue, Forbes, Tatler, Cosmopolitan, InStyle, Elle Girl and The Hollywood Reporter. She is available for studio sessions and on-location shoots, and she is worth adding when the photos are going somewhere permanent. ## When your people are not in New York Two photographers, two halves of the clock. Same direction, same spec, no one shooting at 3am. ### Elina Remote Photographer · Europe & US Coverage Elina directs remote sessions across Europe and the United States. A real photographer guides the light, camera height, posture, and expression live while the participant uses a phone for capture. - [See remote work](https://www.match-production.com/portfolio#remote-headshots) - [remote@match-production.com](mailto:remote@match-production.com) ### Sofia Remote Photographer · Asia-Pacific & Rest of World Sofia covers Asia-Pacific and the time zones outside Elina's map. Same live direction, same spec, at an hour that is not the middle of the night for your staff, which they will notice and mention. - [See remote work](https://www.match-production.com/portfolio#remote-headshots) - [remote@match-production.com](mailto:remote@match-production.com) ## How nine people produce one look This is not a bench of freelancers we go and find after you sign. It is one spec, one schedule and one retouching pipeline. ### One spec, set in advance Lighting, background, crop and retouching level are agreed before anyone sits down. So the CFO photographed in March matches the CFO photographed in September, and nobody has to explain why. ### One person art-directs it Alex sets the spec and every photographer here shoots to it, whether in the studio, at your office, or over video. That is what makes a set look like a set. ### One retouching pipeline Files from every city go through the same hands. You get one brief, one look, one person to email and one invoice, whether your person sits in New York, Lisbon or Singapore. These are our own headshots, made the way we would make yours. If you like how we photograph ourselves, that is roughly the deal. ## Want a quote? Email Irina, or call if a conversation is faster. For standard Team packages, retouched finals are delivered 24 to 48 hours after selections are submitted. Larger or custom programs follow the schedule, editing scope, and delivery terms in the proposal. ### Talk to a person [hello@match-production.com](mailto:hello@match-production.com) [(347) 797-0185](tel:+13477970185) ### Come to the studio 545 8th Ave, Midtown Manhattan, two blocks from Penn Station. Match Production approaches headshots with an editorial mindset rather than a generic studio formula. The work focuses on direction, structure, expression, styling, and polished retouching, so the final images feel elevated, credible, and highly usable for LinkedIn, company websites, press features, speaker profiles, and brand materials. - ### What types of photography are included in the Match Production portfolio? The Match Production portfolio includes corporate headshots, executive portraits, founder headshots, team headshots, editorial-style business portraits, on-location portraits, and remote headshots. This range shows how the studio adapts its visual approach for different industries, roles, and use cases while maintaining a consistent quality standard. - ### How does Match Production keep headshots polished without making them look generic? Match Production combines consistency with individual direction. Posing, framing, expression, wardrobe guidance, background choice, and final image selection are all handled intentionally, so each portrait feels professional and refined without reducing every client to the same visual template. - ### Are Match Production headshots only for corporate teams and executives? No. Match Production works across several portrait categories, including executive portraits, founder headshots, corporate team headshots, professional branding portraits, and editorial-style business photography. The portfolio is designed to show that the studio can support both formal company needs and more personal brand-driven work. - ### How do Match Production remote headshots compare to standard virtual headshot tools? Match Production remote headshots are guided photo sessions rather than automated image generation. Clients receive real-time direction on camera position, posture, expression, framing, and lighting, which helps remote portraits stay aligned with the same visual standard seen in the studio and on-location portfolio. - ### Why do Match Production portraits work for both personal branding and company use? Match Production creates portraits that balance presentation and function. The images are polished enough for editorial use, PR, speaker bios, and media placements, while also staying practical for LinkedIn, team pages, investor materials, company websites, and internal business communications. - ### Who is Match Production portfolio most relevant for? The Match Production portfolio is especially relevant for executives, founders, doctors, lawyers, consultants, startup teams, corporate teams, and other public-facing professionals who need clean, modern, high-credibility portraits. Why is personal branding priced higher than standard professional headshots? Because it is a bigger production. Personal branding includes more strategy, more visual planning, broader coverage, more final images, and a much wider use case across websites, social media, press, speaking, and marketing materials. It is built as a content library, not just a profile photo. What is included in Match Production pricing that is often extra elsewhere? Our packages already include retouching, a defined number of final images, color-corrected selects, and usage rights within the package scope. That makes the real value easier to compare, because the visible package price is closer to the actual final cost. Why does Match Production separate editorial, LinkedIn, corporate, remote, , and branding pricing instead of forcing one format on everyone? Because different clients need different levels of production. A founder building a personal brand, a company photographing 20 employees, an enterprise HR team rolling out company-wide portraits, a remote team onboarding new hires, and an individual client all have different goals. Separate pricing keeps each package more efficient, more honest, and more competitive for its use case. What makes the corporate pricing especially competitive? The corporate packages are built around consistency, efficiency, and scale. Instead of paying premium editorial rates person by person, teams and enterprises get a structure designed for real business rollouts, with matched lighting, standardized output, and predictable delivery across multiple people. Why is Match Production a strong value if I care about quality, not just the lowest price? Because the value is not just in the number on the page. It is the combination of direction during the session, cleaner final image quality, included retouching, efficient package design, and a more polished result that works across LinkedIn, company websites, press features, brand materials, and application systems like . ## Additional corporate event coverage For clients who also need photography or video around a company event, conference, panel, summit, networking reception, or brand activation, Match Production offers corporate event coverage as a separate add-on service. This section is intentionally placed at the bottom so the main focus of this pricing page stays on headshots, portraits, teams, remote sessions, and personal branding. ### Corporate Event Photography from $1500 For small corporate events, panels, receptions, press moments, and business gatherings. - 2-hour event photography from $1500 - Half-day event photography from $2500 - Full-day conference photography from $4000 - Speakers, guests, networking, room details, branded elements, and event atmosphere - Professionally color-corrected image gallery - High-resolution and web-ready files - Unlimited business and marketing usage rights ### Step-and-Repeat Photography from $1200 For guest arrivals, VIP portraits, sponsor moments, premieres, launches, and branded celebrations. - 2-hour step-and-repeat coverage from $1200 - Guest flow, VIP arrivals, sponsor visibility, and branded details - Backdrop portraits with a clean event workflow - High-resolution and web-ready files - Private online gallery delivery - Unlimited business and marketing usage rights - Can be planned alongside event or headshot coverage ### Corporate Event Video from $2200 For event highlight videos, speaker moments, social clips, and business recap content. - 2-hour event video from $2200 - Half-day event video from $3500 - Full-day conference video from $5500 - Edited highlight video included in each event video package - Basic color correction and sound cleanup - Horizontal master file plus social-ready exports on larger packages - Unlimited business and marketing usage rights Corporate event coverage is listed here as a secondary service. We build the photo day around your team, from the first lighting setup to the finished employee files. ### 1. Plan the Photo Day Share your headcount, date, location and reference images. We plan the background, employee schedule, package and files with you, including who collects selections and receives the finals. ### 2. Photograph the Team We set up at the agreed NYC office or Midtown studio. Each employee receives clear posing and expression guidance, using the lighting and framing established for your company. ### 3. Select, Retouch and Deliver Review the color-corrected images in private galleries and submit your selections. Your retouched final photos are delivered 24–48 hours after you submit your selections. File names, crops and folders follow the agreed delivery brief. ### Keep Employee Headshots Current as You Hire Build portrait booking into onboarding, so every new hire has a clear next step. Keep one photography brief and a repeatable process for employees attending our New York studio or your office. #### One Visual Standard for Future Sessions We keep the agreed lighting, background, framing and retouching references for later sessions. Define the dates, locations and coordination in your program quote, then use the same brief as your team grows. #### Choose a Route for Each New Hire A scheduled drop-in at our Midtown Manhattan studio A short on-site session added to your next office shoot For a company-wide remote programme, explore [Remote Headshots](https://remote-headshots.com/). Match’s [virtual headshot session](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots) is an individual $200 offer. New-hire sessions and ongoing coordination are quoted separately from the main photo day. Agree on the editing, file naming and delivery requirements as part of that scope. ## Choose the Right Setup for Your Employees ### Midtown Studio or Your Office Use our studio at 545 8th Avenue for scheduled visits, or bring the setup to an appropriate space in your NYC office. We confirm the room and employee flow before the shoot. ### Colleagues Outside New York A colleague who cannot attend in NYC can request an individual $200 [virtual headshot session](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots). Share the agreed visual references when requesting the session. ### One Reference for the Whole Set Background, light, crop and finishing are agreed together. Your employee portraits can then be used across the website, LinkedIn and internal directory without introducing a different style for every session. ### What to Send With Your Enquiry Headcount and location: include departments, office addresses and any colleagues outside NYC. Add the preferred dates and any fixed deadline. Visual and delivery requirements: send your current portraits or brand references, the intended uses, and any file naming, crop or folder specifications. ### What We Confirm Before the Shoot We recommend the production format and package, then define the schedule, included support and image requirements in the proposal. Agree who will collect client selections and who receives the finished files. If you need a group image, extra locations or a rush workflow, include those requests in the brief. For office setup details, see [on-location headshots](https://www.match-production.com/on-location-headshots-nyc) . For individual leadership portraits, explore [executive sessions](https://www.match-production.com/executive-portraits-nyc) . We retain the agreed visual reference for studio visits and office photo days. Company-wide remote programmes are available through [Remote Headshots](https://remote-headshots.com/). ### A Distributed Team, One Consistent Portrait Series Anchovies, a branding agency, commissioned 15 matching headshots for a client whose employees were spread across cities and countries. One photographer directed every session remotely, and our retouching team finished the selected portraits. This was a distributed-team project, using live direction and phone-camera capture. The case shows the brief, the process and the resulting portraits, with a saved visual standard for future hires. [See the 15-person remote headshot case](https://www.match-production.com/blog/15-remote-headshots-agency-client-case-study). Explore more [corporate photography case studies and planning guides](https://www.match-production.com/blog) from our studio. For a team together in NYC, compare [office and studio photo-day packages](https://www.match-production.com/team-headshots-nyc#packages) . ### Plan Group Photographs Alongside Individual Headshots Add your group size, preferred setting and required final images to the brief. We will include the setup and delivery in your quote. Choose a setting that supports the company’s visual identity: - Environmental Office Photos Your workplace can provide context for a team photograph or environmental leadership portrait. - Brand-Matched Backdrops Share brand references for the individual portrait background; we confirm the setup before shoot day. - Classic Studio Backgrounds A controlled studio background gives the directory a simple, consistent look. Individual portraits and group photographs can share the same lighting and finish, helping the images work together on your company pages. Compare [team packages for up to 50 people](https://www.match-production.com/team-headshots-nyc) , or include group coverage in your corporate program enquiry. Ask about individual and group portraits in one company brief. ## Corporate Headshot Questions, Answered Practical answers for the person arranging the company’s photographs. - ### What is a managed corporate headshot program? It is a coordinated photo project for a company: an agreed visual standard, employee schedule, photographer team, selection process and final file delivery. Match’s listed corporate programs cover up to 50, 100, 250 or 500 employees. Each includes a project manager; the detailed matrix shows which additional support belongs to each tier. - ### Which package should we choose for our company? Choose by headcount, location and coordination needs. Corporate 50 is $6,900 for up to 50 people; Corporate 100 is $11,900 for up to 100; Corporate 250 is $24,900 for up to 250; and Corporate 500 is $39,900 for up to 500. For a simpler photo day, [standard team packages](https://www.match-production.com/team-headshots-nyc) start at $1,449 for up to five people. The two ranges have different production support. - ### Can we include a company group photograph? Yes, when the location, schedule and agreed scope support it. Tell us the group size and intended uses before the shoot so we can plan the setting, time, number of group finals and retouching. A group photograph should be defined in the quote alongside the individual headshots. - ### How many employees can you photograph in one day? The corporate matrix lists one production day for each tier, with one photographer for Corporate 50, two for Corporate 100, three for Corporate 250 and four or more for Corporate 500. We confirm the day’s plan against the room, participant schedule, backgrounds and review requirements. - ### What files and retouching are included? Each listed corporate program includes one retouched headshot and ten color-corrected selects per person, a private gallery and unlimited usage rights. Final portraits are finished naturally for business use. Before the shoot, we agree on the crops, file names, formats and folder structure; HR tools and integration are included only in the tiers shown in the matrix. - ### What does Corporate 100 include for $11,900? Corporate 100 covers up to 100 employees at your office, with two photographers and one production day. It includes one retouched headshot and ten color-corrected selects per person, a project manager, an on-site coordinator, CSV employee intake, HRIS/DAM integration, department-level gallery delivery and unlimited usage rights. A scheduling portal and floor plans are listed with Corporate 250 and 500. - ### Can new hires and remote colleagues match our existing portraits? Yes. We record the agreed lighting, background, framing and retouching standards for later sessions. New hires can attend a scheduled studio session or a later office shoot. An individual colleague can separately request a $200 virtual session and share the visual reference. We quote in-person refresh coordination separately. - ### Should employees come to the studio or be photographed at our office? A studio schedule can suit individual visits and smaller groups. An office setup can bring the portrait session into the workday for a larger team. We can combine the formats when the program calls for it. Share the address, room access and employee availability; we will recommend the appropriate setup rather than assuming every corporate tier uses the same location. - ### When will we receive the final retouched headshots? Approve the Visual Standard We agree on the background, lighting, framing, and retouching direction before the full team is photographed. A headshot is usually framed for a profile or company bio. An executive portrait can also include a wider frame or a workplace setting for press, leadership pages and speaking materials. We plan the setting, framing and selected images around your brief. The package determines the time, wardrobe options and number of retouched finals. - ### How much do executive portraits cost in NYC? CEO Express is $399 for a 30-minute studio session, with two retouched portraits and fifteen color-corrected selects. CEO Signature is $549 for a one-hour studio session, with four retouched portraits and thirty selects. Executive Brand is $899 for two hours in studio or on location, with eight retouched portraits and fifty selects. Each is for one executive; group and remote packages are listed separately. - ### How do you help someone who feels uncomfortable in front of the camera? The photographer guides posture, gaze and expression throughout the session. You do not need to arrive with a set of poses. We use the intended business use and your reference images to establish the direction, then you choose the portraits from a private gallery. Retouching refines the finish while keeping you recognizable. - ### Can you photograph our CEO and the rest of the leadership team? Yes. Leadership Essentials is $1,449 for up to five people and up to two hours; Executive Standard is $1,889 for up to ten and up to three hours; Boardroom Portrait Day is $2,499 for up to twenty-five and up to five hours; Enterprise Leadership Day is $4,490 for up to fifty and up to seven hours. Each includes one retouched portrait and ten selects per person. These are leadership team packages; [managed corporate programs](https://www.match-production.com/corporate-headshots-nyc) have separate production support and prices. - ### What should our communications team send before the session? Send the intended uses, image deadline, executive availability, preferred setting and brand references. Add any required orientation, crops, backgrounds or file naming. We agree on the images you need and who will collect the final choices, so the finished portraits are ready for their intended use. - ### Can you photograph an executive at our Manhattan office? Yes, through the appropriate on-location package or a separately scoped project. CEO Express and CEO Signature are studio sessions. Executive Brand and the listed leadership group packages offer studio or on-location photography. Share the address, access requirements and available time so we can recommend the setting and schedule. - ### What is included, and when are the final portraits delivered? The listed sessions include photographer direction, color-corrected selects, a private gallery, the package’s retouched final images and unlimited business usage rights. Your retouched final photos are delivered 24–48 hours after you submit your selections. Gallery preparation, optional extras and any rush delivery are separate matters to confirm; this standard describes selected retouched finals. - ### Which page should we use for a company-wide employee rollout? Use [Corporate Headshots](https://www.match-production.com/corporate-headshots-nyc) for a managed employee program, or [Team Headshots](https://www.match-production.com/team-headshots-nyc) for standard team packages. It is a dedicated portrait setup at your conference or company event where attendees, speakers and staff can have individual professional headshots taken. How much does a headshot station cost in NYC? Our producer prepares an individual quote for your event. Send the date, venue, operating hours and estimated number of participants so we can discuss the scope and price. How many people can you photograph? Share your estimated headcount and event schedule. The producer will plan the crew and participant flow around the portrait approach and time available. Can you also photograph the rest of the event? Yes. We also offer corporate event photography for keynotes, panels, networking and other event coverage. Let us know if you would like both services included in your proposal. When will the portraits be ready? Selection, editing and delivery timing are agreed in your proposal. Tell the producer about any deadline when you request a quote. What does the venue need to provide? Our standard station fits within a 10 × 10 ft area and includes Profoto equipment, tethered shooting and a digi kit. Send the venue details and access rules so our producer can confirm the location, power, setup and participant flow. Background requirements are agreed in your quote. --- ## Corporate Event Photographer NYC | Conference Coverage Canonical: https://www.match-production.com/corporate-event-photographer-nyc Corporate event and conference photography in NYC. We plan the crew, responsibilities and requested delivery deadlines before quoting. Our Work ## Corporate Event Photography Portfolio From the stage to the conversations between sessions, these photographs show the people and atmosphere of the event. Look for the balance of close moments, wider room views and branded details. A complete set can support your press materials, recap page, sponsor report and next event campaign. ## Corporate Event Photography Built for Real Business Use Process You keep the event moving. We follow the people, light and timing, working calmly around the room. Before the day, we map the must-have moments and the places where the schedule overlaps. ### Before the Event Send the date, venue, coverage hours and run of show. Identify priority speakers, sponsor requirements, simultaneous rooms, the on-site contact and any image deadlines. ### During the Event The photographer moves between stage coverage, audience reactions, networking and sponsor details as the program unfolds. Your on-site contact flags schedule changes so we can adjust the priorities. ### After the Event The event gallery receives color correction and is delivered in the agreed formats. Any priority selects, full-gallery deadline and video delivery are confirmed separately in the scope. ### When Sessions Overlap A keynote, breakout panel and sponsor activation may happen at the same time. Mark those overlaps in the schedule and tell us which people and moments need dedicated attention. Published photography packages include one photographer. Additional rooms, stationary portrait coverage or a separate video brief may call for more crew and a revised quote. ### When Images Are Needed Early Tell us which images are needed first, their intended use, the deadline and who will approve them. Early social or PR selects require a delivery plan alongside the photography schedule. Priority selects, the complete event gallery and any edited video have separate deliverables and deadlines. We confirm them before booking. ### Example: Briefing a Conference A keynote and two breakout sessions start together; the reception begins later in another room. Identify the rooms and people that need dedicated coverage so we can plan photographer assignments. If you also need a headshot station or video, include it in the same schedule. Planning example; the final crew and coverage follow your quote. ## Why Choose Match Production for Corporate Event Photography Built for Modern Brands Our photographers bring an editorial eye to live business events: clear compositions, attention to light and timing, and natural interactions. TESTIMONIALS ## What Our Clients Say WHAT IS PERSONAL BRANDING PHOTOGRAPHY ## Not Just Portraits. A Complete Visual Identity. A headshot is a single image. Clean, professional, shoulders-up. It has its place (and Match Production shoots exceptional ones), but personal branding photography is something categorically different. ### Headshot A single image. Clean, polished, professional. Ideal for LinkedIn, company profiles, and traditional business use. ### Personal Branding Photography A complete visual story. A curated collection of photographs and images designed to shape how your brand is seen across every platform. A personal branding photoshoot is a complete visual story. It is a curated collection of photographs and images that populate your entire digital world: the hero banner on your website, the lifestyle photos in your social media feed, the editorial portraits in your press kit, behind-the-scenes moments that show your process and working environment. Together, the photographs give your website, social channels, and press materials a consistent set of visual references. When a potential client lands on your website, scrolls your Instagram, or reads a feature about you, they are not just reading your words; they are reading your brand. The composition, lighting, setting, wardrobe, posing, and expression can be planned around the tone and context of each intended use. ### Single-Purpose Portrait One portrait for a profile or bio. ### Brand Image Library Multiple images for distinct pages, platforms, and layouts. We plan the image list around your website, social channels, press materials and other intended uses. Your package determines the shoot time, number of looks and locations, included images and production support. It is not about standing in front of a camera and hoping for the best. It is about building a visual identity with photographs assigned to the pages, platforms, and layouts in your brief. That is what separates a professional personal branding photoshoot from anything you have done before. For a tighter, profile-first option built specifically for online credibility, explore our [LinkedIn headshots NYC](https://www.match-production.com/linkedin-headshots-nyc) services. THE MATCH DIFFERENCE ## What Your Branding Session Includes Your session starts with a plan for the photographs you need. We coordinate the shoot, guide posing and expression, and retouch your selected images. Choose the studio, locations and production support that fit your package. ### Production Support for Your Session Every package includes a photographer, planning and professional retouching. Makeup and hair are included with Signature and Editorial Production, or available with Essentials for $350. A wardrobe styling consultation is a separate $150 add-on. ### Editorial Quality. Zero Generic. Every frame is composed, lit, and directed with the same attention to detail you would find on a magazine cover shoot. The photos our team creates do not look like corporate directory portraits. They are planned as a coordinated brand story for the website, press, and marketing uses you identify before the session. Every personal branding photographer on our team is held to that standard, every session, every shoot. ### A Studio in the Heart of Midtown Manhattan Our studio at 545 8th Avenue gives you professional lighting, multiple set configurations, and a full beauty suite, the perfect backdrop when you need controlled, high-impact portraits. For clients whose brand calls for the energy of the city itself, we shoot on-location across NYC. ### Full Commercial Usage Rights: Always Included Your delivered photographs include full commercial usage rights for your website, social profiles, marketing and press materials. ### Transparent Process. Fast Turnaround. From the opening talk to the moment your gallery lands in your inbox, our process is clear, efficient, and stress-free. You will always know what to expect at each stage and exactly what you are getting. Because extraordinary branding photography should never arrive with a side of chaos. THE PROCESS ## From Vision to Gallery: Exactly How We Work A great branding photography session does not begin with a camera. It begins with a conversation about your brand, your audience, and your goals. Here is what working with Match Production looks like from beginning to end. Our personal branding process is structured like a production timeline: clear, strategic, and designed so every stage builds naturally into the next. - Step 1 ### Discovery Call & Planning We open every engagement with a dedicated strategy call. We discuss your brand story, the message you need to convey, and the platforms your photos will live on. We talk through your ideal client profile, visual direction, and the specific shots your work requires. From that discussion, we build a detailed shot list mapping out editorial portraits, lifestyle content, and specialty captures tied to your industry. We also define the setting, wardrobe, and style plan so every look aligns with your brand identity. The planning call is the foundation of the entire session. - Step 2 ### Pre-Shoot Preparation Great photographs are shaped before the shoot begins. In the days leading up to your session, we confirm the shot list, schedule, logistics, and wardrobe. Our team sends a clear prep guide so you know exactly what to bring and what to expect. Those using our on-site beauty services are prepared by our professional team on arrival. Wardrobe styling consultation is available as a separate $150 add-on; request it when planning your session. - Step 3 ### Shoot Day On shoot day, you show up. Everything else is handled. The studio or setting is fully prepped, the lighting is calibrated, and our photographers guide you through posing, expression, and movement, so even if you have never had a professional session before, you will feel natural quickly. Depending on your session, we move through multiple looks, settings, and a full range of shots, from clean editorial portraits to dynamic lifestyle images. - Step 4 ### Gallery, Selection & Delivery After your session, we deliver a curated online gallery for review. You select your favorites, and our retouching specialists apply precise, natural-looking edits. The final images arrive as high-resolution files ready for web, print, and every platform your brand occupies. From shoot day to delivery, you receive a professionally retouched library ready to populate your website, elevate your social media presence, and represent your brand with the credibility and creativity it deserves. For a company headshot rollout, I start with the brief: who needs a portrait, where they work and who will approve the result. HR or People Ops should confirm the roster, employee locations, visual reference, schedule owner, selection process, file requirements, and deadline before requesting a proposal. Those inputs determine whether the project uses the studio, an office setup, remote sessions, or a planned mix. This guide covers the decisions that belong in that brief. Current packages and booking terms remain on the [Corporate Headshots](https://www.match-production.com/corporate-headshots-nyc) service page and in your approved proposal. ## Define the rollout before choosing a format A corporate headshot rollout is a coordinated project for current employees, leadership, or new hires who need one approved portrait standard. The brief should identify who is included, where each person works, how the images will be used, and who makes final decisions. Record these inputs in one working document: - Employee roster, departments, office locations, remote participants, and planned new hires. - Preferred date window, internal deadline, executive constraints, and office access hours. - Approved examples for background, lighting, crop, expression, and retouching. - Selection owner, file naming, crops, formats, folder structure, and delivery contact. - Procurement requirements, building paperwork, group photographs, or leadership variations that need separate scope. A complete brief lets vendors compare the same job. It also prevents assumptions about staffing, travel, timing, or deliverables from becoming part of the plan without approval. ## Choose session formats from the roster Employee location and schedule should drive the format. A centralized group may use the Midtown studio or a setup at the office. Distributed employees may need a remote company workflow. A mixed rollout can combine formats when the proposal identifies which people use each one and how the visual direction will carry across sessions. ### Studio sessions The studio keeps the lighting, background, and camera position in one controlled room. It can fit leadership, individuals, or teams that can travel to Midtown. Confirm attendee arrival windows, wardrobe or background changes, accessibility needs, and whether the selected package covers the full roster. For a bounded department or company photo day, compare the current [Team Headshots packages](https://www.match-production.com/team-headshots-nyc#packages). Standard Team packages start at $1,449 for up to five people, with options for up to 50 people. Use the package limits and session scope rather than an assumed per-person market average. ### Office sessions An office session brings the agreed lighting, background, and camera setup to the workplace. Send room photos or a layout, available hours, and reception, elevator, loading, or building-paperwork requirements before the setup is confirmed. The current [On-Location Headshots](https://www.match-production.com/on-location-headshots-nyc) page explains the office planning inputs and published team limits. ### Remote and mixed-location sessions A distributed roster may use the current [Remote Headshots company workflow](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots#company-workflow). If the rollout combines office, studio, and remote sessions, agree on the visual reference, selection responsibility, and finish before invitations are sent. The proposal should state the workflow and deliverables for each group. #### HR operating checklist for remote cohorts The company portal gives HR one place to follow bookings, selections and delivered portraits. Before sending invitations, agree who owns each step and what should happen when an employee needs help. Use this checklist alongside your visual brief: - Set the roster and window. Confirm which people and email addresses are in scope, who sends invitations, the booking dates, and the available cohort capacity. Include expected later hires and time-zone needs in the plan. - Choose the selection owner. Choose whether HR, the employee or the photographer selects a shortlisted frame. Give the selection owner a deadline and name a contact for unresolved choices. - Assign status and reminders. Name a coordinator to check who still needs to book, attend or choose a portrait. Agree the reminder schedule and when the coordinator should follow up personally, so an unresolved step has a clear next action. - Agree on exceptions. Decide who contacts an employee after a missed appointment or failed connection. Confirm rebooking, retakes and any seat changes in the proposal, including which requests need a separate charge. - Confirm the handoff. Set the selection deadline, crops, file naming, delivery contact and timing. The portal provides square, web and original downloads. Agree who checks the delivered files and submits any correction request. - Plan later hires. Keep the approved visual brief and decision owner with the project record. Confirm a new booking window, availability, and scope for each later cohort before telling an employee what to expect. Send employees the [remote session preparation guide](https://www.match-production.com/blog/remote-headshots-live-directed) for phone and room setup. For an example of a finished distributed-team set, see the [15-person case study](https://www.match-production.com/blog/15-remote-headshots-agency-client-case-study). It documents an earlier capture workflow, with the current portal explained separately. ## Build the schedule around confirmed constraints Start with employee availability, room access, the approved session scope, and the date the organization needs finished files. Do not calculate the schedule from a generic people-per-hour rule. Background changes, executive variations, group photographs, building access, and participant readiness can change the run of show. Name one internal coordinator. That person maintains the roster, confirms participant instructions, handles day-of arrivals, and escalates changes. Reserve known executive windows and document how no-shows or later hires will be handled in the approved scope. Use the [staff preparation guide](https://www.match-production.com/blog/tips-for-staff-headshots-2026) for the employee-facing brief rather than repeating wardrobe and arrival guidance here. ## Approve one visual and file standard Choose a small set of approved references before the rollout. Record the background, lighting direction, crop, framing, expression range, and retouching approach. The standard should be specific enough for review while leaving room for clear photographer direction with each participant. Define the file workflow at the same time: - Who selects each portrait: the employee, HR, marketing, or another approver. - How many selected images and retouched finals the approved package includes. - Required aspect ratios, crops, file formats, naming convention, folders, and delivery contact. - Where the organization will use the files and which usage rights the proposal confirms. For sessions across dates or new-hire cycles, save the approved references and file rules with the project record. The guide to [consistent corporate headshots](https://www.match-production.com/blog/consistent-corporate-headshots-in-nyc) covers how to maintain that standard without turning every employee into the same pose. ## Separate package facts from quote inputs Published Team packages start at $1,449 for up to five people. Managed corporate programs start at $6,900 for up to 50 people and include project-management support. These are current Match Production starting points, not national benchmarks or estimates for every rollout. The quote should identify participant count, locations, dates, staffing, session format, deliverables, selection workflow, additional crops, group photographs, leadership variations, travel, and any rush request. Use the [corporate headshot pricing guide](https://www.match-production.com/blog/pricing-for-corporate-headshots-nyc-remote) to compare those inputs. The proposal remains the source for the final project total and schedule. ## Assign an owner to each approval - HR or People Ops: roster, employee communication, scheduling owner, new-hire plan, and internal deadline. - Brand or marketing: visual reference, crop, image uses, review criteria, and final file requirements. - Facilities or office operations: room access, reception, elevators, loading, available hours, and building paperwork. - Procurement: vendor onboarding, purchase-order process, payment terms, and required documents. - Vendor project lead: confirmed scope, production plan, photographer and support roles, selection workflow, and delivery record. Put the decision owner beside each item. A deadline without an approver, or a visual standard without a named reviewer, leaves the rollout open to conflicting feedback. ## Compare proposals against the same brief A useful proposal should answer the operational questions in the brief. Confirm which locations and dates it covers, the participant limit, the production roles, what each person receives, who selects images, how files are organized, and which additions require separate approval. Ask the vendor to identify assumptions. A quoted office setup should reflect the room information you supplied. A remote workflow should state how employees book and join. A multi-date program should state how later sessions follow the approved reference. If procurement needs a COI, W-9, purchase order, or other onboarding document, raise it before the date is reserved so support can be confirmed. Review relevant work as evidence of visual fit, not as a promised business result. The [company headshot examples](https://www.match-production.com/blog/company-headshots-examples) page can help stakeholders discuss background, framing, and finish before they approve a direction. ## HR rollout checklist - Confirm the roster, office locations, remote participants, and expected later hires. - Approve the visual reference and the file requirements. - Choose the session format for each employee group. - Name the internal coordinator and every approval owner. - Share room, access, procurement, scheduling, and delivery constraints. - Compare proposals against the same inputs and record any approved additions. When those items are ready, request a [corporate headshot program](https://www.match-production.com/corporate-headshots-nyc#packages) proposal. The final agreement should state the package or managed scope, schedule, selection process, deliverables, and delivery requirements for the rollout. (2026) Canonical: https://www.match-production.com/blog/ai-linkedin-headshot Source dateModified: 2026-09-20T04:02:05.093Z AI LinkedIn headshot tools reviewed: quality, cost, limitations. How they compare to a live-directed remote session. An honest look at both. # AI LinkedIn Headshot: When To Use It, When To Skip It, And How To Make It Look Real Mar 31 Written By Match Production AI headshots for LinkedIn can be useful for testing a look or creating a temporary profile image. Price, processing time, input requirements, and download terms vary by tool, so review the current vendor terms before uploading photos or paying. But AI headshots are not always the right choice. If the generated image looks unlike you, overly smooth, or visibly synthetic, it may not work well beside your current profile, company bio, or video-call appearance. Studio Headshots gives you another path: a real photo studio session with a professional photographer. Instead of generating a face from uploaded images, your final image is based on real photos, live direction, controlled lighting, and natural retouching. The result is a photographed portrait with a likeness, pose, lighting, and crop directed during the session. ## Key takeaways AI headshots can work for individual LinkedIn page updates, freelancers, job seekers, and temporary social media images. AI generated headshots are less reliable for founders, executives, leadership teams, press materials, investor decks, and company websites. A good AI headshot generator can create professional AI headshots from a few selfies, but the quality depends heavily on the photos you upload. The best AI headshot generator for one person may not be the best AI headshot generator for another person because facial structure, hair, glasses, skin tone, and source photos all matter. A real studio session gives you more control over pose, lighting, facial expression, background, wardrobe impression, crop, and exact facial structure. If you need a professional image for LinkedIn only, AI may be fine. If you need professional photos for LinkedIn, press, company websites, leadership bios, or employer brand, real studio photographs are usually safer. ## What an AI headshot for LinkedIn is An AI headshot for LinkedIn is a portrait created or heavily transformed by software from photos you upload. AI headshot generators ask for different numbers and types of source photos. The system studies your face, clothing, skin tone, hair, and facial features, then creates new headshots with different backgrounds, outfits, and lighting. In simple terms, the headshot generator does not take a new picture of you. It behaves more like an AI photo generator or photo generator for professional portraits. It creates a new image based on the input image or training set. Some AI photos look close to reality. Some look hyper realistic at first glance. Others show plastic skin, changed facial features, strange hair, or a facial expression that feels almost right but not fully human. This is why AI headshots sit in a specific category. They can create professional AI headshots quickly, and professional AI headshots can be convincing when the source photos are strong. Some AI tools can generate AI headshots with a studio quality headshots style. But they are not the same as a professional headshot captured through photography in a real studio. ## What AI headshots are not AI headshots are not a full replacement for professional headshots when trust, likeness, and brand consistency matter. They are not the same as a professional photo studio shoot. They are not always suitable for an entire team, leadership page, press kit, company website, or investor-facing bio. An AI professional headshot can look polished, but it may not preserve the exact facial structure of the person. A headshot generator can create new headshots with a smart casual blazer, diffused studio lighting, soft bokeh, or bright cinematic color grading, but those effects do not guarantee authenticity. For LinkedIn, the question is not only “does this look professional?” The better question is “would someone who met me recognize this as me?” A studio headshot answers that question differently. The image is still polished. The lighting is still controlled. The background can still be clean, minimal, and modern. But the foundation is a real photograph of the real person. ## When AI headshots are a good fit AI headshots can be a good fit for temporary or exploratory uses when an accurate likeness is not the main requirement. They can work for: A job seeker who needs new headshots quickly. A freelancer testing a new LinkedIn page style. A content creator who needs social media images. A consultant who wants a cleaner profile photo for low-stakes use. Someone who wants to generate AI headshots before deciding whether to book a real session. Someone who wants to try a free AI headshot generator before spending money. AI headshots can also help test visual direction, such as neutral backgrounds, formality, or a contemporary style. Trial access, required uploads, and payment terms vary by tool. If you are using a free trial, check the resolution, watermark, download, privacy, deletion, and commercial-use terms before relying on the output. ## When real studio headshots are better Real studio headshots are better when the photo is tied to trust. A [professional headshot for LinkedIn](https://www.match-production.com/linkedin-headshots-nyc), a founder bio, a leadership page, or a company website needs to feel accurate. It should look like the person on a good day, not like an idealized AI version of them. Real studio headshots are usually the better choice for: Founders and executives. People who appear in press, investor decks, or public speaking materials. Sales, recruiting, finance, legal, healthcare, and consulting roles. Teams that need consistent headshots across company websites. Anyone whose LinkedIn page is checked before calls, interviews, or meetings. People who wear glasses and want the final image to reflect how they actually appear. Anyone who wants a professional headshot with controlled lighting, real expression, and accurate facial structure. A real studio session gives more control. A professional photographer can adjust lighting, camera height, pose, facial expression, framing, lens choice, and background before the image is captured. AI tools work after the upload. A photographer improves the image before it exists. That difference matters. It helps create natural looking headshots with realistic skin texture, balanced tones, subtle warmth, and crisp detail without turning the person into an artificial version of themselves. ## How AI headshot generators work Most AI headshot generator workflows follow the same basic pattern. First, you upload the number and types of photographs required by the chosen tool. Follow its current input guidance, and include recent views that accurately show details such as glasses and hair. Second, the headshot generator trains on those photos. The system reads facial features, hair color, skin tone, clothing, and expression. Strong inputs help. Well lit photos usually produce better AI headshots than blurry, filtered, or heavily edited photos. Third, you choose styles. Some AI headshot generator tools offer corporate, creative, founder, business casual, modern studio, or casual LinkedIn styles. Other AI headshot generators include different backgrounds, high resolution downloads, and extra editing tools. Fourth, the tool creates headshots. Processing time, output count, resolution, and additional-download terms depend on the vendor and plan. This process is easy, often just a few clicks from upload to preview. It is also why quality varies. If the photos are weak, the AI generated results may be weak. If the AI model misreads your face, hair, skin, glasses, or facial expression, the headshots created may look slightly off. ## How to choose the best AI headshot generator There is no single best AI headshot generator for everyone. The best AI headshot generator depends on your source photos, budget, desired style, privacy needs, and tolerance for AI generated artifacts. Look for these key features: A realistic sample gallery, not only perfect image examples. Clear privacy policy and deletion terms. Good guidance on what photos to upload. Clear trial pricing, output, and download terms. High resolution download options. Some control over backgrounds, clothing, and facial expression. A refund or rerun policy if the headshots created look unusable. Good reviews that include an honest review of weak results, not only marketing claims. Avoid choosing a headshot generator only because it calls itself the best AI headshot generator. Many new tools make big promises. Some create professional AI headshots with impressive results. Others produce AI generated headshots with plastic skin, strange eyes, or a body that does not feel connected to the face. The best AI headshot is not the most dramatic image. The best AI headshot is the one that still looks like you. ## A note on AI tool language Many AI tools describe their key features with phrases that sound like a prompt: hyper realistic, bright cinematic color grading, diffused studio lighting, soft bokeh, shallow depth, airy soft light, realistic textures, and an atmosphere exudes confidence. Those words can help describe a style, but they do not guarantee believable headshots. A headshot generator may create AI headshots with crisp detail, realistic skin texture, and a polished and contemporary feel. It may also create AI headshots with plastic skin, distorted glasses, or a face that feels close but wrong. The better question is not whether the image looks expensive. The better question is whether the headshots look like the person. This is especially important for professional AI headshots. Professional AI headshots can work when the likeness is accurate. Professional AI headshots become risky when the final headshots look more like a photo generator’s idea of a professional person than the person themselves. A real professional headshot does not need to look unreal to look good. ## Common visual problems in AI headshots AI headshots can look strong at first and then fail under closer review. When reviewing AI generated headshots, zoom in and check details. Watch for: Plastic skin with no realistic skin texture. Eyes that do not match your real eyes. Changed hair color. Glasses that look melted or uneven. A facial expression that feels frozen. Fabric texture that looks painted. Hands, jewelry, or collars that look strange. A high angle that distorts the face. Too much negative space around the head. A shallow depth effect that looks fake. Overdone soft bokeh or airy soft lighting. Overly cinematic color that does not fit LinkedIn. A surreal background or object that feels like a nano banana accident instead of a professional setting. A background that feels like an AI studio set rather than a real photo studio. Prompt language can also be misleading. Terms like “observe crisp detail,” “exquisite focus,” “diffused studio lighting,” “gently illuminating,” or “atmosphere exudes confidence” sound attractive, but they do not guarantee a professional headshot. A polished and contemporary feel is useful only if the image still looks like the person. A real professional headshot does not need to look unreal to look good. It needs to feel clean, intentional, and honest. ## AI headshots vs real studio session AI headshots and real studio headshots solve different problems. AI headshots solve speed and variety. With an AI headshot generator, you can upload photos, choose a style, and generate AI headshots quickly. You may get dozens of options, new photos, different backgrounds, and a few usable images. Real studio headshots provide control over likeness, lighting, pose, and consistency. A real session gives you a professional photographer who can adjust lighting, direct pose, refine facial expression, control the background, and make the final professional photo feel like you. Instead of asking software to imagine a professional version of your face, you create the image in a controlled photo studio environment. If you only need a quick LinkedIn profile picture, AI headshots can be fine. If your LinkedIn page is part of your professional reputation, a real professional headshot is safer. For teams, the gap becomes even clearer. AI generated headshots from different employees often vary in style, lighting, crop, skin tone, clothing, and realism. A real studio rollout can create consistent headshots for the entire team with one standard. ## Why LinkedIn is more sensitive than people think Your LinkedIn page is not a private design experiment. It is often the first place recruiters, clients, investors, partners, and colleagues check. A LinkedIn profile picture appears in search results, direct messages, comments, posts, company pages, and connection requests. It is small, but it carries a strong impression. If the image looks visibly generated or differs from your current appearance, it may feel inconsistent with the rest of the profile. That is why a LinkedIn profile picture should look clean but not fake. It should have a professional feel, but it should preserve real facial features. It should be polished, but not transformed. AI headshots can work for LinkedIn when they stay close to reality. Professional AI headshots can be acceptable when they look natural and do not alter the person. But if the AI professional headshot looks like someone else, choose a real studio session. ## How to get better AI results if you still use AI If you decide to use an AI headshot generator, source photos matter more than most people expect. Use: Recent photos from the last 12 months. Clear phone photos in natural light. A few selfies and chest-up images. Photos with different facial expressions. Photos in clothing close to what you would wear professionally. Photos without heavy filters. Photos where your face is not blocked. Photos with and without glasses if you sometimes wear glasses. Avoid: Group photos. Extreme high angle selfies. Dark photos. Heavy social media filters. Hats or sunglasses. Old photos where your face, weight, hair, or style has changed. Over-retouched professional photos. The goal is to give the headshot generator enough information to create natural looking headshots. More photos usually help, but more bad photos will not create a better result. If you want to create professional AI headshots, treat the upload step seriously. The AI headshot generator can only work with what you give it. ## What real studio headshots do differently A studio session starts with direction, not generation. The photographer works with you in a controlled environment and builds the image before the camera is triggered. They adjust the camera angle, lighting, background, pose, crop, and expression. They notice if the subject’s body is turned too far, if the chin is too high, if the shoulders feel tense, or if the lighting is flattening the face. Then real photographs are captured. The selected images are edited for professional results: color, crop, skin detail, clothing distractions, and background cleanup. This creates polished headshots without changing who the person is. The final image can still feel modern. It can have balanced tones, subtle warmth, crisp detail, and a polished and contemporary feel. It can be clean enough for LinkedIn and strong enough for company websites, social media, business pages, press bios, internal profiles, and marketing use. That is why studio headshots are useful for people who want professional photos with real control, real lighting, and a stronger finished result than a generated image can reliably provide. ## Using AI headshots across a company AI headshots become harder when the goal is consistency across a team. Not everyone uploads the same type of source photos. Not everyone chooses the same style. Not everyone likes the result. Some people may feel uncomfortable with AI generated images of their face. For a company, this creates brand and communication issues. A mixed set of AI headshots can make the team page feel inconsistent. A few people may have realistic AI headshots, while others have overly smooth or stylized images. Some headshots may feel like professional photos, while others look like AI photos. If your company wants to use AI headshots, create guidelines before the rollout: Which headshot generator will be used. Which style is acceptable. How much editing is allowed. Whether free AI results are acceptable. Who approves final images. What employees can do if they dislike the output. Whether leadership uses AI or real photographs. Not everyone wants their professional image generated. A good headshot program should respect that. For leadership, PR, investor, and employer-brand uses, real photographs provide a more controllable likeness and production standard. A studio headshot program gives companies a clearer visual system. The lighting, background, crop, retouching, and final image standards can be controlled from the beginning. That matters when company headshots are used across websites, pitch decks, press pages, internal directories, and social media. ## How AI is used in professional production Professional photography is not automatically anti-AI. Many production workflows use modern editing tools. A tool like a magic eraser can remove small distractions. AI-assisted cleanup can help with background edges, noise, or minor color issues. The difference is that these AI tools support a real photo. They do not replace the face. In a professional workflow, AI may help with cleanup, but the foundation is real photography. A photographer still guides lighting, pose, expression, and image selection. Retouching still respects the person’s real structure, skin, and identity. That balance creates professional headshots that feel polished without becoming synthetic. ## Why the studio option exists Studio headshots are built for people who want better headshots with real photographic control. The session is directed, practical, and efficient. The photographer helps create headshots that feel clean, natural, and usable across real professional contexts. For individuals, studio headshots give you a stronger LinkedIn image without depending on a headshot generator to interpret your face. For companies, studio headshots make it easier to keep team headshots consistent across roles, departments, and leadership pages. For founders and executives, studio headshots protect likeness while still creating polished headshots quickly. The goal is simple: headshots that look professional, headshots that feel human, and headshots that can be used beyond one profile. A good studio headshot does not need to be overly formal. It can be modern, minimal, business casual, editorial, approachable, confident, or neutral. The point is not to make the person look like a different version of themselves. The point is to make the image feel clear, intentional, and trustworthy. ## When to book real studio headshots instead Book real studio headshots when: Your image appears in press, investor materials, or speaking promos. You are a founder, executive, partner, or spokesperson. You want a professional headshot that matches how you look in real life. Your company needs consistent headshots across the team. Your LinkedIn page is connected to serious hiring, sales, or fundraising. You tried an AI headshot generator and the results looked close but wrong. You need professional photos with controlled lighting and a real photo studio process. A real studio session does not need to be slow or complicated. You can arrive, get directed by a professional photographer, review the images, and leave with a stronger set of options than most AI tools can provide. The final images are delivered as polished professional photos for LinkedIn, company websites, social media, internal directories, press materials, and marketing use. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### Can recruiters tell if my LinkedIn headshot is AI generated? Sometimes. Recruiters may not identify the specific tool, but they can notice when AI headshots look too smooth, too perfect, or slightly unlike the person. If your LinkedIn photo feels different from how you appear on video or in person, choose a more honest image. ### Are professional AI headshots acceptable for LinkedIn? Yes, professional AI headshots can be acceptable if they preserve your likeness and do not look synthetic. A clean AI professional headshot can work for many individual LinkedIn profiles. For founders, executives, press, or company websites, real photographs are usually safer. ### How many photos should I upload to an AI headshot generator? Follow the chosen tool’s current input requirements. Include close-ups, chest-up photos, different angles, and varied but natural lighting. A few selfies can help, but do not rely only on selfies. Upload photos that show your current face, hair, glasses, and typical expression. ### Are free AI headshots good enough? Free AI headshots can be useful for testing. A free AI headshot generator may offer limited credits, lower resolution, or fewer downloads. Free AI is usually fine for experimentation, but for a serious business image, compare the output carefully before using it publicly. ### What is the best AI headshot generator? The best AI headshot generator is the one that preserves your likeness, gives you useful styles, protects your data, and produces a final professional result you would feel comfortable using. Do not judge only by sample galleries. Test with your own photos when possible. ### Can AI create studio quality headshots? AI can create studio quality headshots in appearance, especially with strong source photos and a good headshot generator. But the image is still generated. If you need real facial accuracy, expression coaching, controlled lighting, and trust-sensitive professional use, a real studio session is more reliable. ### Can I mix AI and real photos on a company page? You can, but it is easy for the page to feel inconsistent. AI generated headshots and real photographs often differ in skin texture, lighting, crop, and background. If leadership uses real photographs and the rest of the team uses AI headshots, set a clear standard so the page does not feel accidental. ### Do I need a photo studio for a professional headshot? Not always. A professional headshot can be created in different ways, including studio, office, or other controlled setups. But if you want the strongest control over lighting, background, posing, image quality, and consistency, a photo studio is usually the safest option. ### Is a studio headshot better than an AI headshot? For serious professional use, usually yes. AI headshots can be useful for speed and experimentation. A studio headshot is better when you need accuracy, trust, consistent lighting, real expression, and a final professional image that still looks like you. ## Final note AI headshots are useful. A good AI headshot generator can create professional AI headshots quickly, and free AI headshots can help people test a look with almost no commitment. But AI headshots are not the safest answer for every professional use. If your LinkedIn page, company website, press bio, or leadership page depends on trust, real photographs give you a better foundation. Use AI when you need speed and experimentation. Choose real studio headshots when you need accuracy, confidence, controlled lighting, and a professional headshot that still looks like you. Match Production [https://match-production.com](https://www.match-production.com/) --- ## Remote Headshot Session Guide: How to Prepare | Match Canonical: https://www.match-production.com/blog/remote-headshots-live-directed Source dateModified: 2026-09-27T17:31:42Z Prepare for a live-directed remote headshot: set up your phone and window light, complete the camera check, follow direction, and choose a frame. # How to Prepare for a Live-Directed Remote Headshot Apr 8 Written By [Irina Chistikina, Lead Producer at Match](https://www.match-production.com/our-team) This guide preserves instructions for existing company-client bookings. Follow your own invitation for the applicable workflow. Match’s current new virtual headshot offer is [$200 for one person](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots), including one retouched final. Updated September 27, 2026 ## Your remote headshot starts with a simple setup I’m Irina, Match’s lead producer. If your company invited you to a remote headshot, the preparation is simple: choose an available time, charge your phone and find a quiet space with usable window light and a stable connection. The photographer checks the setup, guides your framing and expression, and triggers full-resolution photographs on your phone. ## What to know before your appointment - For existing company bookings, portal appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes. Follow the timing and preparation notes in your invitation. - The company session opens in a phone browser. There is no app to install for the current company portal workflow. - A photographer directs the session live. You receive help with light, camera position, posture, framing and expression. - Your phone captures the photograph. The photographer triggers full-resolution phone photographs rather than taking screenshots from the video call. - Your company sets who chooses the image. After the photographer shortlists frames, the program assigns the choice to HR, the employee or the photographer. The company brief defines retouching and delivery. ## Prepare your phone and room Bring the items and conditions the current company workflow asks for: - A charged smartphone. - A stable internet connection. - A quiet space where you can hear direction. - Usable window light. - A steady phone position near eye level. You do not need to decide the final camera angle alone. The session begins with a camera check, and the photographer helps refine the phone position, light and framing. Follow any company-specific notes in the invitation because the agreed background, crop and finish may affect the setup. Open the session link before your appointment and complete the release and device check. Follow the camera and microphone prompts so the photographer can see and direct you. If the check does not complete, send the coordinator or support contact the step where it stopped and the message shown. If your space is too dark or you cannot keep the phone steady, raise that before photography begins; the photographer can assess the setup rather than leave you guessing. ## Schedule, connect and receive ### Schedule: choose a time from your company invitation For a company program, your invitation opens the company calendar. Sign in with your work email using the one-time link or code, review the deadline and preparation notes, and choose an available appointment shown in your own time zone. ### Connect: complete the camera check Open the session link on your phone. In the current company workflow, the session runs in the phone browser. The live video connection lets the photographer review the setup and direct you. The photographer triggers full-resolution photographs on the phone while the call carries the live direction. ### Photograph: follow live direction The photographer adjusts the practical details one at a time: phone height, available light, shoulder position, chin angle and expression. Frames upload during the session, and the photographer shortlists the strongest options. ### Select and receive: follow your program scope The program decides whether HR, the employee or the photographer chooses from the shortlist. Editors prepare the selected photograph to the agreed company finish. The portal shows square, web and original versions of that portrait; these are formats of one selected image, not extra portrait selections. Employees can use the frame-change option available in their program. If a delivered image needs a correction, HR can submit a request; the quote confirms eligibility, the included correction allowance and delivery timing. ## What HR should tell employees Your company invitation should tell you where to book, the booking deadline, how to prepare and who will choose the portrait. Verify the email address used for your invitation, then choose an available 15-minute appointment. Slots are shown in your local time zone; check the selected time before adding it to your calendar. If the invitation or verification message has not arrived, tell the company coordinator before the booking window closes. Follow the company preparation brief for clothing and the intended look. You do not need to recreate a finished company background in your room: the photographer checks the available light and camera position, while the program sets the background options and finishing direction. The [company visual-standard guide](https://www.match-production.com/blog/consistent-corporate-headshots-in-nyc) explains what HR and Brand should agree before you join. Already invited to a company session? Follow the workflow and support details in that invitation. For a new individual booking, review Match’s [$200 virtual headshot session](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots). For company-wide remote programmes, explore [Remote Headshots](https://remote-headshots.com/). ## How live remote headshots differ from AI On this site, remote and virtual headshots refer to a live session where the photographer and participant are in different places. The participant joins from a phone, and a real photographer directs the capture. The starting image is a photograph made during that session. AI-generated headshots use uploaded images to synthesize a new portrait. That is a different process. Match may use AI-assisted upscaling during finishing, but the current remote workflow starts with a real phone photograph and does not replace the participant's face with a generated likeness. For a fuller comparison, see [AI headshots vs real photography](https://www.match-production.com/blog/ai-headshots-vs-real-photography). ## When to consider a studio or on-location session An individual virtual session can suit a professional who cannot visit the studio. Consider a [studio headshot](https://www.match-production.com/studio-headshots-nyc) when the brief calls for controlled lighting, several looks or a more involved portrait setup. An office or on-location day can fit a team gathering in one place or needing group photographs. Review [NYC corporate headshots](https://www.match-production.com/corporate-headshots-nyc) for that in-person company scope. ## A real 15-person remote project In one published Match Production project, branding agency Anchovies commissioned remote portraits for 15 people working across different cities and time zones. One photographer directed the sessions to one visual specification, and the finished portraits were prepared for the client's website. The project used an earlier remote-capture software workflow; it is a historical example, not a record of the current company portal process described here. See the photographs and production notes in the [15-person remote headshot case study](https://www.match-production.com/blog/15-remote-headshots-agency-client-case-study). ## Remote headshot session questions ### Do I need to install an app? Not for the current company portal session. Open the invitation and session link in your phone browser. The camera check runs before photography begins. ### How long is the session? For existing company bookings, portal appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes per employee. Follow your invitation and allow time before the appointment to prepare and complete the camera check. ### What if I miss the appointment or cannot complete the camera check? Use the contact or support instructions in your invitation, or [contact Match Production](https://www.match-production.com/contact) for next steps. Allow time before the appointment to open the session link and complete the camera check. Your invitation or support response will confirm what to do next. ### Who chooses the portrait? The photographer shortlists frames, and the company program sets whether the photographer, HR or the employee selects one for retouching. Ask HR which option applies to your appointment. ### Can the portrait follow an existing company look? The company brief records the background, crop, ratio and finish that guide the session and editing. The live camera check still adapts the setup to the participant's room and available light. ### Is the portrait generated by AI? No. The starting image is a real photograph captured on the participant's phone during a live photographer-directed session. AI-assisted upscaling may be used in finishing; it does not replace the person's face with a generated likeness. ## Follow Your Existing Invitation or Request an Individual Session If you are an invited employee, use the link and preparation notes sent by your company. For a new individual booking, review Match’s [virtual headshot session](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots) at $200 for one person. Learn what to include in your brief for a custom producer quote. # How to Plan Conference Headshots at an On-Site Event Booth Apr 17 Written By Match Production The short version: a conference headshot station is a lit portrait setup at an event. Match Production prices headshot stations individually with the producer, based on the event brief. The quote confirms staffing, capacity, background, selection, retouching, files, usage, delivery deadline, and handoff method. Key takeaways - Station timing and capacity depend on the event schedule, staffing, portrait brief, and delivery scope confirmed in the quote. - Request a custom quote from our producer for your event schedule, participant count and portrait requirements. - Delivery timing and handoff method are confirmed in the quote. - Plan controlled portrait lighting and an approved neutral or brand-color background; test the assigned venue space before the event. - Confirm the required footprint, power, access, queue, and staffing plan with the venue and production quote. - Badge or registration files require a separately confirmed capture, naming, crop, and delivery workflow. ## What is a conference headshot (and who is it for)? A conference headshot is a portrait captured on-location at a corporate event, trade show, or summit, rather than in a studio. Three groups use them: - Attendees may receive a professional portrait as an event service. - Speakers and panelists need stage-ready portraits for the event program, slides, and press. - Sponsors and exhibitors may use the station as an attendee service when consent, delivery, and sponsor requirements are defined in advance. An event station can give attendees a useful portrait while the organizer controls the approved visual brief and delivery plan. ## Why do events run a headshot booth? Define the purpose before production. Common planning goals include: - Foot traffic. Plan signage and queue space so interested attendees can understand and join the station. - Lead capture. If email delivery or lead capture is requested, define consent, required fields, access, and ownership in the approved workflow. - Branded reach. Sponsor branding can be applied to approved signage or delivery materials when included in the quote. - Goodwill. A finished portrait can serve as the attendee benefit when the event brief and delivery plan support it. ## How do you run a conference headshot booth? - Keep the line moving. Use the quoted run of show. The photographer directs each guest, while the approved staffing and portrait scope determine station timing and capacity. - Light it properly. Controlled portrait lighting can reduce uneven overhead shadows. Test the setup in the assigned space before attendees arrive. - Use a clean [backdrop](https://www.match-production.com/blog/headshot-background). Neutral gray or a subtle brand color. Avoid busy step-and-repeat banners directly behind the face. - Deliver fast. Confirm delivery timing and whether the approved handoff uses a gallery, QR code, email, or another method. - Brief a greeter. The quote may include separate queue, check-in, consent, or attendee-preparation support when the event requires it. ## Space, power, and setup checklist - Footprint and standard setup: the station fits within a 10 × 10 ft area and includes Profoto equipment, tethered shooting, and a digi kit. Confirm backdrop width, shooting distance, queue space, access, power, and safety with the venue and producer. - Power: share outlet locations and venue restrictions so the producer can confirm the power plan. - Flow: a clear entry and exit so the line does not tangle with booth traffic. - Capture-to-delivery: confirm whether the quote includes on-site selection or editing, and the required file-handoff workflow. - Signage: a simple sign with the offer and the delivery method so passers-by understand it in two seconds. ## Lighting and delivery, in a little more detail Venue lighting may be overhead, uneven, or color-shifted. Test a controlled soft source in the assigned space before attendees arrive. Confirm a delivery deadline with the producer that fits the event schedule and agreed editing and file-handoff scope. ## What does a conference headshot booth cost? Conference headshot station pricing is discussed with our producer. Share the expected headcount, operating hours, portrait requirements and venue details so we can prepare a quote. Editing, retouching, printing, extra passes, and any branded gallery are confirmed in the quote. For general studio and team package information, see our [pricing guide](https://www.match-production.com/pricing). Explore our [NYC conference headshot station service](https://www.match-production.com/conference-headshots-nyc) and [request a producer quote](https://www.match-production.com/conference-headshots-nyc#station-quote). ## What the conference headshot quote should define - Every booth is quoted as a package, not per photo. A conference quote may define: - The number of lit stations, photographers, assistants, operating hours, and planned capacity. - The approved background or brand reference and how it will be produced. - The selection, editing, retouching, and approval workflow. - The delivery deadline, handoff method, and any approved organizer or sponsor branding. - The number and type of delivered files and the included editing scope. - The required pixel sizes, crops, naming convention, and file formats. - The usage license and attendee access terms. Additional staffing, stations, printing, retouching, integrations, or branded galleries are included only when listed in the quote. What we need from you: the date and hours, the venue and room, expected headcount, whether registration needs badge photos, your brand hex code if you want a matched backdrop, and the delivery deadline. That information is enough to prepare the scope and quote. ## Headshots for speakers and sponsors Speakers and panelists have different needs from walk-up attendees. They often want a slightly more formal, editorial portrait for the program, the website, and press, and they may need it backstage between sessions. Build a few priority slots into the schedule so a keynote speaker is not stuck in the general line. For a sponsored station, confirm which signage and delivery materials may carry the sponsor identity. ## Badge photos, credentials, and registration portraits If badges, credentials, or a directory require portraits, confirm the registration system, consent flow, crop, identifiers, file handoff, integration owner, and deadline before production. Two things make this work. Approve the framing and crop specification before the first guest so the badge wall or directory grid follows one standard. Decide whether one capture can support both the badge crop and a wider portrait, then include both exports in the file specification. If badges are printed on site, share the printer, software, file, naming, test, and handoff requirements before the quote is approved. ## What mistakes should you avoid? - Underestimating volume. Use registration estimates and event-hour peaks to plan quoted staffing and capacity. - Slow delivery. Set a realistic delivery deadline in the quote. - Venue lighting only. Test controlled portrait lighting rather than relying on the room fixtures without a setup check. - No posing direction. Keep live photographer direction in the station plan. - No email capture plan. If you are running the booth for leads, decide the opt-in flow before the doors open. ## Throughput: how many people you can photograph Plan around registration estimates and peak arrival periods. Share event hours, expected headcount, portrait scope, room access, and delivery needs so the quote can set stations, photographers, assistants, and capacity. Do not infer capacity from a universal minutes-per-person rule. ## Making the booth on-brand Keep the portrait background focused on the person. Approved organizer or sponsor branding can appear on the specific signage or delivery materials listed in the quote. When sponsor branding is approved, apply it to the agreed delivery materials without placing unapproved marks on the portrait itself. ## After the event: using the photos The value does not end when the event does. With documented permission and the agreed license, attendees and organizers can use delivered files for the purposes listed in the quote. Set consent, access, retention, delivery, and usage terms before the event. ## How we run conference headshots Match Production runs [on-site event-headshot booths](https://www.match-production.com/conference-headshots-nyc) in NYC and beyond: controlled lighting, live posing direction, and a delivery workflow defined by the event quote. We also handle [on-location team headshots](https://www.match-production.com/on-location-headshots-nyc) and [speaker portraits](https://www.match-production.com/corporate-event-photographer-nyc). The quote can define the approved backdrop, delivery branding, and badge or registration files when the event requirements support them. ## Book a conference headshot booth Send the date, venue, expected headcount, event hours, portrait scope, delivery deadline, and handoff needs, and we will prepare a scope and quote. If it is faster to talk it through, call (347) 797-0185 or email [hello@match-production.com](mailto:hello@match-production.com). Pricing is agreed with the producer for your event. Send the date, venue, expected headcount, event hours, portrait scope, and delivery deadline for a quote. How long does each headshot take at a conference? Timing depends on the portrait brief, attendee flow, staffing, and delivery scope confirmed in the quote. How quickly can attendees get their photos? The delivery deadline and handoff method are confirmed in the quote. How much space does a headshot booth need? The venue and production team should confirm backdrop width, shooting distance, queue space, power, access, and safety requirements for the selected setup. Can the booth capture leads for a sponsor? It can, when the organizer defines consent, required fields, data ownership, delivery access, and approved sponsor branding before production. Do speakers get different headshots from attendees? Often, yes. Speakers usually want a slightly more formal, editorial portrait for the program and press, and priority scheduling so they are not stuck in the general line. What makes a conference headshot booth successful? Controlled light, live direction, a realistic run of show, clear consent, and a delivery plan matched to the event brief. Can you deliver badge photos on the day of the event? Badge or registration files can be scoped when the organizer provides the integration, identifier, crop, naming, test, consent, and deadline requirements. This workflow and its delivery timing must be confirmed in the quote. Do you travel outside New York for conferences? Yes. We are based in Midtown Manhattan. Conferences outside the city and multi-city programs require quoted travel, access, staffing, and logistics. Match Production [https://match-production.com](https://www.match-production.com/) --- ## Case Study: 15 Remote Headshots for an Agency's Client Canonical: https://www.match-production.com/blog/15-remote-headshots-agency-client-case-study Source dateModified: 2026-09-27T17:31:42Z Inside a 15-person remote shoot ordered by branding agency Anchovies for their client: live photographer direction, hand retouching, studio-grade finals. # One Agency, 15 Screens: How We Shot a Client Team We Never Met in Person Aug 31 Written By Irina Chistikina, Lead Producer at Match Updated September 27, 2026 The short version: [Anchovies,](https://anchovies.agency/) a branding agency, hired us to photograph 15 people for a client of theirs, a team scattered across different cities and countries. No studio, no travel, no generated faces. Every session was shot by one photographer, Elina, live: the person joins a video call for the direction, but the capture itself ran through the remote-capture software used for that project, which saved RAW files directly from the phone's camera. She set up each camera with the person, directed them the way she would in a studio, and shot remotely. Our retouch team then finished every file mostly by hand. The result went onto a client-facing website an agency had put its own name behind, and that is the highest quality bar we know. Here is the part that surprises people about my job on a project like this: it was over in the first week. I set the project up, and then Elina ran it. On an office shoot I stand in the room all day with a call sheet. Here, once the spec was agreed and the booking links went out, the machine did not need me, and it did not need the client either. Key takeaways - A remote headshot here is a photograph, not a generation. Every delivered pixel started as a RAW frame captured live from the person's own phone, directed by a real photographer. - Direction happened over video; capture used the project's remote-capture software. It saved RAW files from the phone's camera, not compressed video frames. - For this project, sessions took about ten minutes per person. Participants used a phone, a window and the remote-capture software used for this project. - AI is pointed at the camera, never at the person. Perspective, lens distortion, light and color are corrected algorithmically; everything that touches a face is done by hand. - Fifteen rooms, one photographer, one standard. The same photographer shot every session, to one spec, through one retouch pipeline. That is why the set looks like it was shot in one place. - The work was divided clearly. Anchovies supplied the roster and visual direction; Match prepared the booking links and Elina ran the sessions. In this guide - The project at a glance - Why did a branding agency hire us for someone else's team? - Can a phone camera really produce a professional headshot? - How did the sessions actually run? - What does "retouched by hand" actually mean? - How do fifteen photos from fifteen rooms end up matching? - Why not just use an AI generator? - What did the agency actually have to do? - When is remote not the right tool? - How today's company headshot program works - Frequently asked questions - The bottom line ## The project at a glance - 15 people photographed, each in their own city, several time zones between them - One photographer for the whole set: Elina, our remote photographer, shot every session herself - Ordered by an agency for their client: Anchovies ran the brand, we ran the photography - About 10 minutes per session, directed live over video - Captured in RAW with the project's remote-capture software on each person's phone, with the light the room already had - Retouched mostly by hand, with AI correction used only to undo what the phone and the room got wrong - Nothing generated. No pixel in the delivery was synthesized, and no face was altered - Match managed booking and session coordination after Anchovies supplied the roster and visual direction The figures on this page come from our production records for this project. The end client is not named at their agency's request. Employee faces appear with permission. ## Why did a branding agency hire us for someone else's team? Because their name was on the deliverable. Anchovies was building their client's brand and website. The team page needed fifteen faces that followed one visual direction, and the fifteen people making that company sat in different cities. For this client project, the agency chose real, directed photographs rather than generated portraits and asked us to produce the set remotely. The photography had to work inside the brand and website Anchovies was delivering. Consistent framing, light, expression and finishing were part of this project brief. So the brief to us was simple and strict: fifteen matching, client-facing headshots, no travel budget, no studio visits, and quality that would sit comfortably in a brand book. That is our [remote headshots](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots) service, and this is what it delivered. ## Can a phone camera really produce a professional headshot? Yes, and the phone was never the hard part. [DXOMARK compared a full-frame Panasonic with flagship phones](https://www.dxomark.com/smartphones-vs-cameras-closing-the-gap-on-image-quality/) using its camera test methodology. The results were mixed: the phones were competitive in several measures, while the larger camera retained advantages in detail and zoom. For this project, the phone camera supplied the RAW original; camera position, available light, expression, frame selection and finishing still shaped the delivered portrait. In these sessions, Elina used live direction to adjust camera height, window light, posture and expression before selecting frames. The before-and-after pairs on this page show the captured originals and finished portraits from this project. ## How did the sessions actually run? Each person got a calendar slot, opened the remote-capture software used for this project on their phone, and joined a video call for the talking part. From there it worked like a studio session that happens to be very small and very far away: - Minutes one to three, the setup. Elina looks at the room through the camera and picks the spot, almost always a window. The phone gets propped, leaned or held by a books-and-tape rig she talks the person through. Angle and height are set to the frame our spec calls for. - Minutes three to eight, the shoot. She directs exactly as she would in the studio: posture, shoulders, chin, where the eyes go, when to breathe out. The project's remote-capture software saved RAW files from the phone's camera while the conversation continued over video. - Minutes eight to ten, the check. She reviews frames on the spot, reshoots what needs reshooting, and confirms the session is done before the person leaves the call. For this project, remote-capture software recorded RAW originals directly from each phone camera, independently of the video call. Elina used the call for direction; the photographs were camera files rather than frames taken from the video stream. Those originals gave our editors the detail needed for the final portraits. For this project, participants used a phone, available window light and the remote-capture software then in use. They were not asked to buy a ring light or tripod, and each appointment was planned for about ten minutes. This case describes the workflow used for that project. Match’s current [virtual headshot session](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots) is a separate individual offer at $200 for one person. And here is the division of labor recorded for this project. I produced the front of the job: the roster from the agency, the visual specification and the booking links. Elina then directed the sessions and handled session-level reschedules and retakes across the participant list. For the step-by-step version of the process itself, we wrote up [how a live-directed session works](https://www.match-production.com/blog/remote-headshots-live-directed). ## What does "retouched by hand" actually mean? For this Anchovies project, the processing split was optical correction first, then manual retouching of the portrait. This section describes that earlier production workflow. Let me be precise about the files in this case. A phone can exaggerate perspective close to the lens, and the room affects light and color. For this project, we used our correction pipeline on the RAW camera files to address perspective, lens distortion, light and color before manual retouching. We kept the photographed person’s own features instead of generating a replacement face. After that came a person with a tablet and a deadline. Skin was retouched as we retouch studio files: temporary blemishes out, texture kept. Stray hairs, shine, a collar that sat wrong. The aim was a finished portrait of the person who attended the session, with their own features intact. Those production notes belong to this set of photographs. They should not be read as a promise that every step of this older pipeline is part of Match’s current individual virtual package. Review that package for its included finish. ## How do fifteen photos from fifteen rooms end up matching? This was the agency's real fear, and it is the right fear. Fifteen decent headshots that do not match are useless to a brand book; buyers describe this exact failure as photos that look fine individually and wrong side by side. The answer is boring and structural, which is why it works. One photographer: Elina shot all fifteen sessions herself, so the eye behind every frame was the same eye. One spec, written before the first session: framing, crop, the direction light should come from, the expression register. One art director, Alex Karnyukhin, who owns our lighting and retouching standard and reviewed this set the same way he reviews studio output. One retouch pipeline, so every file passed through the same hands and the same color decisions. The person shot on a Tuesday in one country matches the person shot on a Friday in another, because nothing about the standard was left to the room they happened to sit in. Compare that with the obvious alternative, a local photographer in each city: fifteen rooms and five photographers is five different opinions about light. Fifteen rooms and one Elina is one opinion, fifteen times. We keep that visual specification on file afterward. Using the same brief can help later hires fit the existing grid, while the actual setup, finish, timing and delivery are confirmed for the program in use. The same documented brief supports [consistency across a set](https://www.match-production.com/blog/consistent-corporate-headshots-in-nyc) over time. ## Why not just use an AI generator? Honest answer: for some people, that is a fine choice, and the tools are getting better. Anchovies ruled it out for a different reason than quality, and it is worth understanding. A [PNAS perception study](https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2120481119) found that participants were often unable to distinguish the study's synthetic faces from matched real faces; it did not study hiring. A [company-published Ringover survey of recruiters](https://www.ringover.com/blog/ai-headshots) reported different reactions when generated headshots were disclosed, but it does not predict a hiring outcome. For this client's public team page, Anchovies chose photographs of the real participants. The agency's choice still required careful photography and finishing. A real photograph can be inconsistent or poorly directed, which is why this project put one photographer on every call and used one visual specification. Our longer comparison lives in [AI headshots vs real photography](https://www.match-production.com/blog/ai-headshots-vs-real-photography). ## What did the agency actually have to do? Anchovies sent the list of fifteen names and email addresses and supplied the brand's visual direction. Match used that information to prepare the booking links and session plan. We turned the list into booking links, Elina coordinated and directed the sessions, and the completed sessions moved into a proofing gallery. The agency's designer received files prepared to the site's specifications. The saved visual specification can guide later sessions. Timing and delivery are confirmed for the program in use. SHOT IN STUDIO SHOT REMOTELY SHOT IN STUDIO SHOT REMOTELY SHOT IN STUDIO SHOT REMOTELY ## When is remote not the right tool? Credibility requires saying this part out loud. If your whole team sits in one building, an on-site day may fit better, especially when the brief includes several setups or group photographs. If you need a controlled [executive portrait](https://www.match-production.com/executive-portraits-nyc) for an annual report, a studio session allows lighting and setup choices that this phone-and-window workflow does not. Some teams also prefer the shared experience of a studio or office day. Remote sessions are useful when the team cannot be in one room: distributed companies, international hires, or an agency's client across several time zones. That was the situation in this project. ## Individual Virtual Sessions Today The 15-person case above records an earlier project and its remote-capture software. Match’s current virtual headshot session is for one person, with live photographer direction and one retouched final for $200. Before photography, the employee completes a release and camera check; the photographer then directs the live session. Afterward, the photographer shortlists frames. The company chooses whether the employee, HR or photographer selects the image for retouching. HR can review roster status and remind employees who have not booked. Review [individual virtual headshot sessions](https://www.match-production.com/remote-headshots) for the current package and request process. Company-wide remote programmes are available through [Remote Headshots](https://remote-headshots.com/). ## Frequently asked questions ### Is this good enough for a client-facing website? That was the acceptance test of this exact project: an agency put the output on a site carrying its own reputation. The before/after pairs above are the evidence. Zoom in; the texture is the tell that it is a photograph. ### What did each person need for this project? A recent phone, a window, the project's remote-capture software and about ten minutes. Participants did not need ring lights or tripods for this earlier workflow. ### Why did this project use remote-capture software? It saved RAW files from the phone camera while direction happened over video, so the retouch team worked from camera originals. ### What happened when a room had difficult light? Elina reviewed the available light at the start of each appointment and adjusted the participant and phone position. She completed all fifteen sessions in this project. ### Can later headshots follow this set? The saved visual specification records the framing, crop, light direction and finishing choices. It can guide later sessions, with the result depending on the participant's setup and the agreed production scope. ### Who actually holds the camera? Nobody, usually. The phone is propped or leaned at the angle the photographer sets, because a held phone moves. A colleague or partner can hold it if the room demands it, but the photographer is watching the frame live either way. ### How is this different from AI headshot tools? For this project, we worked from RAW photographs captured during live sessions, followed by the correction and retouching process described above. We did not generate replacement faces. ## The bottom line For this project, Anchovies supplied the roster and visual direction while we managed the booking links, sessions, proofing and finishing. The result was fifteen photographed portraits across several locations, about ten minutes per session, one photographer and one visual specification. Our assignment was to build a press image library around the [announcement](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/maximor-9m-ai-takes-finance-130700230.html) through a two-day NYC production. ## What the Brief Needed The project called for team headshots, editorial founder portraits, working lifestyle images, and an identifiable New York finance setting. Each group served a different placement: company profiles, press coverage, website pages, social posts, and founder features. ## How We Split the Production Day one focused on controlled indoor portraits and team activity at Maximor’s WeWork. Day two moved outside for the founders’ Wall Street portrait near Charging Bull. Separating the environments gave the team both clean profile assets and location-specific editorial frames without asking one setup to do every job. Maximor AI founders: Ramnandan Krishnamurthy and Ajay Krishna Amudan. ## Day 1: Indoor Portraits and Team Coverage We built a compact, controlled set inside Maximor’s WeWork. The indoor session covered consistent [corporate headshots](https://www.match-production.com/corporate-headshots-nyc), broader [lifestyle sequences](https://www.match-production.com/), and more editorial [founder portraits](https://www.match-production.com/executive-portraits-nyc). The same room could support clean profile images and photographs of the team working together. The shooting order kept one person on camera while the next person prepared. Alex Karnyukhin led photography and direction. Victoria worked as digital tech and photographer, monitoring the tethered capture and exposure while the session moved through individual and group setups. Our [planning guides](https://www.match-production.com/blog) cover the same practical questions teams should settle before a company session: uses, background, wardrobe, people order, and final crops. ## Day 2: Wall Street Founder Portraits The second day centered on Maximor AI founders Ramnandan Krishnamurthy and Ajay Krishna Amudan near Charging Bull. The location supplied an immediate New York finance context, but it also required fast decisions around crowds, background activity, angle, and timing. Victoria watched for short openings in foot traffic while the founders stayed ready. A longer lens and careful framing kept attention on the subjects. Minor peripheral distractions were cleaned in post, while the composition and the founders themselves remained grounded in the photographed scene. ## Production Across the Two Days Production coordination covered call sheets, access, contracts, invoices, on-location timing, and review with the client’s team. Some coordination happened across time zones. Clear responsibilities, scheduled decisions, and an agreed image list kept the work moving. ## What We Delivered - Consistent team headshots for profiles, company pages, and internal uses. - Editorial portraits of the founders for interviews, bios, and press features. - Lifestyle photographs showing the team in its working environment. - Wall Street founder portraits with a recognizable NYC finance setting. - Exports prepared for web, social, and editorial placements. ## Why the Two-Day Structure Worked for This Brief The indoor session supplied controlled, repeatable images. The outdoor session supplied place and editorial context. Keeping those goals separate let the final library cover formal profiles, team storytelling, and press use while preserving a coherent visual treatment across the project. ## Planning a Similar Press Shoot Start with the announcement date, people list, locations, access requirements, and every planned image use. Then decide which photographs require a controlled background and which benefit from an environmental setting. That information determines the schedule, crew, equipment, review steps, and quote. For a project-specific plan, email [hello@match-production.com](mailto:hello@match-production.com) with the headcount, locations, desired assets, and publication timing. ## Project Credits Maximor AI founders: Ramnandan Krishnamurthy and Ajay Krishna Amudan.
